Comic Con Achieved

For 20 years or so I had a dream. A 10 year old me would read Wolverine comics and Wizard magazines in the distant land of San Antonio, Texas awestruck by images and thoughts of a wonderful far off paradise called San Diego Comic Con. Although it’s changed quite a bit in the last 20 years (for one thing back then the main draw of Comic Con was actual comics) at it’s core it still retains the nerdgasm magic that made me want journey to this distant place so long ago. So here I am, a 31 year old man who finally got to go on this pilgrimage. A great friend of mine Lucas Culshaw called me up and invited me out and I jumped at the offer. Although he’s been going regularly for years we still both relish the opportunity for adventure so we jumped the trains and rode south. After battling ignorant train station employees, lazy anti-workout security guards, brain addled Skywalker drug dealers, and Retarded yellow attack bears, we arrived. As I set foot upon this hallowed ground the 10 year old inside me screamed in victory. From Star Wars to Ninja Turtles, from Cosplay to Artist’s Alley, every moment was well worth the journey. Here’s a few pics from my virgin visit and I hope to return again…. Because I still need to find some bad ass Mandalorians.
